Paul Brandes currently serves as Chaplain at Sterling College, where he graduated from in 2011. He met his wife Ashley (who was born in raised in Sterling) while they were at SC together. They have been married for 11 years and have two boys (Bevyn, 5 and Owen, 3) with a third boy on the way, due in January. Paul first thought about becoming a pastor in high school, and is so glad the Lord has seen fit to allow him to serve in that way in a number of different churches and organizations.
Chaplain Caleb Barrows
Caleb Barrows grew up in Bellefontaine Ohio and attended Taylor University where he graduated in 2010. After a brief stint exploring mission and non-profit work, Caleb felt a call to pastoral ministry and went to Trinity Evangelical Divinity School where he graduated in 2014. Caleb then joined the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches and served at two church plants, one in Defiance Ohio and the other in Adrian Michigan. He moved to central Kansas in the fall of 2019 where he helped start King's Cross Church along with Paul and Ashley Brandes. Caleb currently serves as the lead pastor of King's Cross Church and lives in Lyons Kansas. He is eager for more connections across Rice County and is grateful for the opportunity to serve the Sterling PD as a new Chaplain.
