Call right away to report an electrical outage. The city is divided into eight distinct sections for electrical supply. If any one of these sections loses electrical service as a whole, or if we lose our tie to our outside supplier and have a city-wide outage, we will be alerted by an automated dialing system from the switchgear at the power plant. However, if the power loss you experience is a small neighborhood outage or a single household outage, we won’t know until someone calls. It’s sometimes difficult, particularly during the daytime, to tell if it’s just your residence or everyone in town without power.
